So what's Phuket all about?
Phuket is a big city in the South of Thailand. It is a huge tourist attraction and a very commercial destination (which means that it is crawling with tourists) and full of things to do, including a lot of tourist traps (by traps we don’t mean scams, but attractions that exist only to serve tourists with no deeper significance).
You can chill on one of the quieter beaches, rent bikes to zip around the many sightseeing spots across town and party among the sleazy joints along Bangla Road on Patong Beach.
Having said that, Phuket is a pretty cool place to spend a day or two and a great launch point for the Southern islands and a couple of great national parks.
