Krabi

An honest travel guide

So what's Krabi all about?

Krabi is a town (and a province) in the south of Thailand with great beaches and access to some spectacular islands.

While Krabi town itself does not have much to offer, the region is generally great to go around. Limestone cliffs and the sea provide great views as you ride your motorbike around town.

Cool things to do in Krabi

Beaches

Ao Nang (Touristy, easily accessible and full of fiid and drink options), Railay (beautiful, accessible only by boat, very famous for rock climbing) and Tonsai Beach (even more inaccessible, but with great views).

Sightseeing

Tiger Cave Temple (1237 steps climb, breathtaking view, no tame tigers), Emerald pool (in a national park, clear water pool with a waterfall), Klong Thom Hot Springs (close to the emerald pool with a cool water stream.

Nightlife

Most of the bars and nightclubs are found on the road along Ao Nang beach. If you love partying, head to Koh Phi Phi (2 hours by ferry) for a thorough beach party experience.

Day/Half Day Tours

Island tours (full and half day tours to the Phang Nga bay), Elephant riverside trekking (make sure to check for animal mistreatment).

Fun activities

Rock Climbing (Railay beach), Kayaking (Railay beach), Snorkeling and Scuba Diving (trips leave from Ao Nang), Khao Ngon Nak Viewpoint (2.5 hour trek to 565m above sea level, insane views of the area and sea).

To summarize. Krabi is a good place to halt at for a day or two before moving on to the southwestern islands.
