Koh Tao or “Turtle Island” is a tropical paradise situated on the Gulf of Thailand. It shares its dreamy coastlines with the neighboring Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. It is also believed that the coastline of this island resembles a sea turtle when viewed from Koh Phangan.

Koh Tao is accessible only via boats, starting from Koh Phangan and Koh Samui namely. The journey takes 6 hours with cost starting from 250 Baht per person. Chumphon and Surat Thani are closer to Koh Tao mainland where flight services like Nok Air, Thai Airways and Air Asia are available.

Swimming and snorkeling are best enjoyed during high tides from October extending till March. During low tides, the sea withdraws itself widening the beach shores for sunbathing, beginning in the month of April and continuing till September.
