What’s So Awesome About It

The Phuket Aquarium is a cool, informative indoor attraction ideal to keep children occupied on rainy days or hot afternoons. Since its recent renovation, the aquarium houses a multitude of sea creatures, including fish, seahorses, turtles and sharks, making it easy to see them all under one roof. Cuttlefish, razorfish, stonefish, eel, crab, shrimp, stingray, snapper, grouper, wrasse and shark are only a few of the slithery companies you’d keep for a day.

The star of the show? A massive 110-ton tunnelled tank that hovers above you, entirely glass walled and gives you a rather magical glimpse of the underwater. Spot these sea creatures swimming above you, almost within arm’s reach and voila, once you step out, get greeted by a king-cod!

What’s The Catch

The aquarium is a government-run enterprise and quite small and basic. Although there are many marine creatures, it’s probably a better idea to go diving or snorkeling to see them in their actual underwater environments.

Pro Tip

Try and plan your visit between 11am to 1pm, to watch the fish being fed.
