Being a part of Tarutao National Marine Park, its underwater landscapes are teeming with bright corals and tropical fishes, its glassy green-blue waters vividly clear. With reefs hugging the shore, you can snorkel just off the coast. If you don’t mind leaving the island, you can take diving trips to its neighboring islands.

Not a fan of diving? How about leisurely kayaking around Koh Lipe? If the seas are calm, you can even paddle out to its nearby islands.

Life on Koh Lipe moves at a snail’s pace and the only place where you will see some semblance of activity is Walking Street, the beating heart of the island. You can buy vintage clothes here and get authentic Thai massages.

The best thing to do though is to just explore the island on foot. Yes, it’s small enough to be covered from end to end in 15 – 20 minutes.

Nights are as mellow as the island itself. Beach bars play reggae music and some have fire shows every night. That’s about as bustling as it gets here.

Koh Lipe is the perfect slice of an authentic Thailand, its dreamy combination of remoteness, unparalleled scenic beauty and charming appeal making it a perfect honeymoon destination.

How to reach: Take a flight directly from Bangkok to Hat Yai. It’s a 4.5 hour journey from there by van and ferry.
